Lightning is nature's match. It ignites hundreds of (usually) small fires every summer in Yellowstone. The park's policy is that only fires caused by lightning or other natural forces are allowed to burn. So park rangers and fire managers need to be able to verify a fire's source. For this they use very complex equipment: binoculars.
