There are more lightning injuries than one would think and many people survive. There are several ways to be injured by lightning. Many injuries go unreported for various reasons. My own experiences are a case in point. Lightning injuries differ from high voltage electrical injuries in many ways. There is a whole list of possible symptoms from lightning and electrical injuries. Some are common and some are different. One of the biggest problems with lightning injuries is that they are often hard to detect and most doctors know little or nothing about them. People injured by lightning are often accused of being lazy and exaggerating their problems. This and the nature of the injury can lead to many social and behavioral problems.
